Coffee from Peru is predominantly grown on small farms situated on the slopes of the northern Andes. The region's high rainfall and stable temperature fluctuations provide ideal conditions for coffee cultivation. However, in the 1970s, the communist party destroyed crops and evicted farmers, which adversely affected coffee cultivation in the region. Fortunately, the Fair Trade movement has helped address this situation. Leaving politics aside, Peru HB EP coffee has a rather mild and rich nutty flavor that complements the sweetness of vanilla. Low acidity is a characteristic feature of almost all varieties of coffee from this region.
